A two-day educational training workshop for adolescents living with HIV took place in Irkutsk on May 7-8, 2019. Organized by the REACH project as part of the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) platform, this workshop involved a group of young people in the Irkutsk Regional Centre for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases (AIDS Centre). The Youth Advisory Board is a key part of REACH, helping young people learn more about HIV, HCV and TB by engaging through interactive group activities. Over the two days, patients of the paediatric department at the Centre studied the different aspects of these diseases, as well as learning more about what REACH is and what it plans to do. Magda Conway, a specialist from Great Britian, conducted the sessions during the workshop. Magda is a consultant in the psycho-social needs of children and young people with HIV. She is a long-time collaborator with both Penta and the Children’s HIV Association (CHIVA).
